Bristol Festival of School Sport

On Tuesday, 23 March 39 pupils from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 spent the day at the Bristol Festival of Sport at Coombe Dingle. This was an opportunity for pupils to try out new sports and compete against those from local schools, namely Redland Green, St Bede’s, Henbury, and Oasis Brightstowe.  The pupils had a fantastic time playing ultimate frisbee, tennis, table tennis, lacrosse, virtual sports, street dance and cheerleading, with our pupils winning medals in tennis, dance and frisbee.

“Yesterday was an amazing day. We went to the Festival of Sport and had a fab time! There were loads of different activities including lacrosse, table tennis, virtual sport, street dance and many more. There was the Great British Paralympic tennis champion called Lucy Shuker who gave a very interesting speech. At lunch time we attended a smoothie making workshop. It was really fun, but our smoothie wasn’t very good! At the end of the day we did lots of relays to finish off. Overall RGS won, but we know it should have been us!”
