Why should I follow this course?

Chemistry lies at the heart of everything: from research into new pharmaceuticals, to the development of cleaner energy and the creation of a sustainable environment. This course will enable you to understand more about the physical and chemical properties of materials around you. You will learn about organic chemicals which are the substances originally derived from living things. Organic chemistry leads to the study of biochemistry and pharmaceutical. The course places an emphasis on the impact of chemicals on the environment. Chemistry improves many skills: practical, mathematical and analytical.

What can I do when I have my qualification?

Chemistry is an essential requirement for admission to university to study a range of subjects including biochemistry, chemical engineering, dentistry, medicine and pharmacy. In many universities it is also required for subjects such as agriculture, geology, and biology.

What minimum qualification will I need?

NBP16C level 3 entry requirement, including BB in science.
