Why should I follow this course?
If you are interested in Greek history and culture you should consider this course. Greek ideas, flowering through contact with the East and North Africa, have played a major part in shaping Europe and the West. This course enhances understanding of the arts, English literature, history and social sciences. You will develop the ability to analyse literature and art and assess the importance of events and personalities by studying sources.

What teaching and learning methods will be used?
As well as personal research, group work, practice in presentation and teacher-led discussions, you will have opportunities to visit sites and museums. In the past we have visited Greece, Italy, London and Bath as well as local venues to attend plays and lectures.
What can I do when I have my qualification?
You can use the qualification, with others, to gain access to most university courses. Classical civilisation is excellent training for careers as diverse as publishing, marketing, journalism, the travel industry, architecture and other creative arts. You will have demonstrated transferable skills in written communication and analytical thinking which will be valuable in all careers.
What minimum qualification will I need?
NBP16C level 3 entry requirement.
