AS level - 40% examination, 60% coursework

A2 level - 50% examination, 50% coursework

Why should I follow this course?

This course will focus on the development of your own solo and group choreography and performing within a solo and duet or trio. You will receive training on practical and choreographic technique and the health and safety of a dancer to support and enhance all performance work. The course will also develop the critical skills required for the analysis of choreography and performance within your own work and professional repertoire.

What teaching and learning methods will be used?

Teacher led technique classes, choreographic tasks and discussions. Student led choreography, research and discussions. There will also be theatre visits and sessions with guest dance artists.

What can I do when I have my qualification?

Dance A level will allow you to study an exciting and interesting subject which can be extended through to higher education; many students have gone on to study at dance colleges and university. Dance gives you many other skills that are desirable to universities: leadership, the ability to collaborate with others, a creative mind and an active body.

What minimum qualification will I need?

NBP16C level 3 entry requirement, and a proven interest and /or experience in dance.
