Why should I follow this course?
GCSE English is a basic requirement for nearly all walks of life. Grade C or above in GCSE English is an entry requirement for many jobs and careers, and for most university and college courses.
What will I learn?
You will improve the fluency and accuracy of your own writing. You will read a variety of texts, learning to distinguish fact from opinion; how to follow an argument and to appreciate the writers' use of language. This course is a fast track GCSE and does not just cover work you have already done in Year 11. You will be assessed through:
- Two written examinations
- Speaking and listening
- Coursework: three assignments
What teaching and learning methods will be used?
This course takes up less time than an A level. You will receive supportive teaching leading to active learning. Many students improve on past performances and achieve grade C or above.
What minimum qualification will I need?
Grade D or E in English GCSE.
