Why should I follow this course?
French is a major European language and France is Britain's closest neighbour, with strong cultural and commercial links. French combines well with either arts or science subjects and the AS and A2 courses are varied and enjoyable. Studying a European language widens your horizons, giving you a European perspective, and increases your employability.

What teaching and learning methods will be used?
There will be whole-class teaching, small group and paired work activities. There will be the opportunity to participate in a short visit to Paris and a longer exchange visit to Bordeaux. All pupils will have timetabled oral sessions with a French native speaker.
What can I do when I have my qualification?
You can take a traditional language course at university, or a degree which combines language modules with subjects such as business, accounting, science, European studies or tourism. Competence in French can enhance your earning power considerably and is an asset in any work place. As well as export links, major British firms have partnerships with French companies and welcome graduates with language skills.
What minimum qualification will I need?
NBP16C level 3 entry requirement, including a B in French.
