Why should I follow this course?
Who gets what, when, where, how and why is the business of government and politics. As well as being exciting to study and stretching you intellectually, it will increase your understanding of how we are governed. It will help to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to make an informed contribution to a subject that affects everything we do and everything that is done to us.

What teaching and learning methods will be used?
Class debate, discussion and analysis are used alongside traditional methods to ensure a lively and interesting learning experience. A visit to the houses of parliament arranged with the local MP has proved to be a valuable stimulus to discussion.
What can I do when I have my qualification?
Politics A level demonstrates to potential employers and higher education institutions competence in problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills. Politics is studied at most universities, either on its own or in combination with other humanities or social science subjects e.g. law, sociology, philosophy. It can also be the first stepping stone on the career ladder of one of the most respected and admired of professions - that of a politician!
