Why should I follow this course?

How do you sort out a dispute? What powers do the police have? How does the prison system work? A level law is a fascinating and rewarding subject in which you will be considering all of these questions and more, and should appeal to all those concerned with social justice. It takes a critical look at the criminal justice system and the institutions of the English legal system. Apart from an understanding of legal  methods, the course helps develop techniques of ordered thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, along with precision in communication.

What teaching and learning methods will be used?

The course will involve a variety of teaching and learning styles including teacher-led activities, group work, essay writing, research and reading using various sources including newspapers and the internet, and usually, a visit to the courts. There may be occasional visiting speakers.

What can I do when I have my qualification?

A familiarity with the law is invaluable in many careers. You will learn a variety of marketable skills. The study of A level law is suitable for those considering legal professions (solicitors, barristers, legal executives and barristers' clerks) as well as health services, social services, human resources and the police.

What minimum qualification will I need?

NBP16C level 3 entry requirement.
