Why should I follow this course?

This is a ONE year course, equivalent to 4 GCSE passes at grade C or above. This course has been designed to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of one of the world's fastest growing industries. Through practical research this course will give you an understanding of how the travel and tourism industry operates. Examples of work covered include: researching different holiday destinations; planning and running an event as part of a team; demonstrating good customer service in travel and tourism situations.

What teaching and learning methods will be used?

A mixture of teacher-led activities, guest speakers, visits to local organisations within the industry and work experience. You will also work independently and as part of a team. You will complete short tasks and larger projects.

What can I do when I have my qualification?

When you have successfully completed this course you may progress to either AS courses at the centre or elsewhere, or to BTEC national courses. For AS courses at this centre you will need to achieve a merit in your level 2 course. This course is also excellent preparation for employment or training, especially in the travel and tourism sector.

What minimum qualification will I need?

Four GCSE passes grade D or the equivalent.
