Ten Oxbridge or Medicine Offers for North Bristol Post 16 Centre Students

Ten North Bristol Post 16 Centre students have received offers from Oxford or Cambridge or have been successful in their application to study medicine. Two places are for Cambridge and seven are for Oxford, and courses include Engineering, French and Arabic, Mathematics, English and Biological Sciences. One student has an offer to study Medicine at Cardiff University.

The Post 16 Centre are delighted with the number of offers and with the wide range of subjects in which our students gained offers, in what is a highly competitive process. Congratulations to all our students who received Oxbridge and Medicine offers!

Marian Curran, Director of the North Bristol Post 16 Centre commented:

"Congratulations to our students. I am extremely pleased with the range and quality of this year's offers, particularly in the light of the increased competition for top university places. Current student, Bridget McManamon, Year 13, who has been offered a place to study English Language and Literature at Oxford, said about the interview process "The Post 16 Centre helped prepare me with mock interviews, which really helped give me the confidence and help me understand what to expect of the interview at Oxford. Having specific subject questions also helped to stretch my thinking and made the real interview less of a shock. We had great support and advice from our teachers, in particular with my personal statement and how it could be modified to present my passion for English and achievements in the best possible way. I’m very excited about the prospect of studying English at Oxford University”.
