A Level Results Success for Post 16 Students

We are delighted with the fantastic A-level results the students achieved at the North Bristol Post 16 Centre.

These results show that we are providing high quality education to the young people of north Bristol and that students are both challenged and supported to achieve their very best. The facilities at both Redland Green learning community and Cotham learning community have given our students the very best opportunities to study and achieve well.

25 students achieved straight A* and A’s in all their A-levels.  2 students will be taking up their offers of places at Oxford and Cambridge and 4 students will begin courses in medicine. We want to congratulate all our students and wish them well as they take up their places at university, employment, or begin their gap year. In Mathematics, English, the Sciences, Performing Arts, Dance and French the results were outstanding with over 75% percent of students getting A* to B grades. Mathematics and science represent 1 in 5 of all entries. The results in these subjects were a real strength of the centre, reflecting the specialisms of the two schools.

North Bristol Post 16 Centre will have 850 students next year, and students are taught at both the Cotham and Redland Green learning communities which are located a quarter of a mile apart.  This is a comprehensive sixth form and students come from a wide range of schools.  Students attending the partner schools of Cotham, Fairfield, Henbury, Orchard School (formerly Monks Park) and Redland Green are guaranteed places. Both learning communities offer a wide range of A-level and level 2 & 3 courses alongside many opportunities for extra-curricular activities and leadership development.

Our open evening for our 2012 intake is on the 13th and 19th of October and will be held at Redland Green Learning Community.
