School News: Cotham Children go to the BBC
In October last year, Year 8 in Cotham School got an amazing chance to enter a competition. The prize was to visit the BBC for an afternoon. To win this prize they had to research news stories and film their own news programme. All the children from each year 8 class at Cotham entered and had lots of fun taking part. The winning class got the fantastic opportunity to visit the BBC on 25 January 2010, where everyone had a great time. They met Jason Harold, BBC radio presenter, Alex Lovell, Points West presenter and Richard Angwin, Points West weather reporter. They told the class about their jobs and what they do in the BBC. They also saw Alex Lovell present the news. Some pupils even experimented with reading the auto-cue themselves. Overall it was a very exciting educational trip.
