North Bristol Post 16 Centre (NBP16C) v St. Mary Redcliffe and Temple Sixth Form (SMRT)

The NBP16C boys basketball team narrowly lost their first basketball match against St. Mary Redcliffe and Temple Sixth Form.

After a close first quarter SMRT started to pull away and they built up a substantial lead going into half-time. The third quarter of the match was all about the NBP16C defence; a number of SMRT turnovers caused by good defence allowed us back into the game. We broke effectively down the floor and led the game going into the final quarter. 

Unfortunately the final quarter turned a little scrappy and NBP16C got into foul trouble. With 1 minute on the clock SMRT opened up a slim lead, which we were unable to recover from.

Final score: SMRT 46 - 42 NBP16C

All in all, a good first performance and with a little more training we hope for a more successful re-match towards the end of the term.
