Students Get to Meet Sir Ian McKellen
Recently, a number of North Bristol Post 16 Centre students got a chance to meet world-famous actor Sir Ian McKellen, whose career has spanned six decades across film, stage and television.
Sir Ian McKellen, famed for – among many other roles – his star turn as Gandalf in the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, spent time with students in Bristol discussing homophobic bullying.
As co-founder of national charity Stonewall, the issue of homophobia is close to the actor's heart and as part of his nationwide tour of schools Sir Ian visited Fairfield School, where the students heard the actor talk about homophobic bullying in schools. They also got the exciting opportunity to have lunch with him!
