YAAC-etty YAAC: an Update
The YAAC (Young Arnolfini Artists Collective) are 10 students from our North Bristol Post 16 Centre who work with the Arnolfini to plan and deliver art events.
The group have been very busy over the past couple of months getting involved in the Arnolfini programme, for example in December they led a very interesting and thought provoking tour for the public of the current exhibition and in January they worked with the curator of the ‘In between Time Festival’ to place art work in the form of vinyl lettering around the galleries in ‘intriguing’ places. The young artists collective have also worked as a group to produce their first installation of original artwork in the Café Bar of Arnolfini! The work is called ‘Wake up and smell the dental floss’ and was produced by the group in response to the works and performances they experienced the in the recent ‘In between Time Festival’. This exhibition is on display at Arnolfini until the end of April so pop in and have a look!
Their current project is part of the celebrations for Arnolfini’s 50th year which is called the Living Archive Project. For this YAAC will be working with artist Joff Winterheart, using animation to bring peoples memories of Arnolfini over the past 50 years to life!
