Accountancy Summer School, Monday, 26 - 29 July 2010

We are pleased to inform you that Kaplan Bristol will be running the annual Summer School again at our Bristol centre and would like to invite your students to participate.

Kaplan Financial is the largest provider of accountancy tuition in the UK, preparing students for all of the main accountancy qualifications.

Accountancy Apprenticeships are growing in popularity with Finance teams in all industries and in Accountancy firms, providing students with opportunities to earn whilst they learn. The accounting apprenticeships prepare students for the AAT (Accounting Technician) examinations/qualification. Government funding is available for 16-24 year old students, supporting these apprenticeships and so we are eager to attract young people into the accountancy profession.

In order to give people an insight into what a career in business and accounting involves, we are running a 4 day summer school for those people who have just completed Years 11, 12 or 13.

This 4 day opportunity will be held on our premises and will cover topics such as:

  • Learning about entering accountancy as a profession
  • CV writing
  • Interview skills
  • Understanding basic accounts
  • Opportunity to meet local accountancy apprentices and hear of their experiences
  • Opportunity to meet local employers, who may be looking to recruit

Any Year 11+ student is eligible to apply, but as numbers are strictly limited there is an application form and preference will be given to those who have already shown an interest in a business/accounting career.

Download the parental consent form, which also needs to be completed and sent in with the application form.

Please note, the deadline for applications to be received is Friday, 18 June 2010.

Business Admin and Customer Service Apprenticeships

Many of your students may prefer to finish school and start a Business Administration or Customer Service apprenticeship. Please click here for more information about these 'earn whilst you learn' opportunities and contact us to discuss this further.

CV Service

For all school leavers, finding work can be difficult. For someone looking to start an apprenticeship, relevant employment or voluntary work is essential. Kaplan have a CV service which allows us to put students in contact with local firms who are looking to fill job roles. For more information visit their website
