GSO Test

covid guidance

If you have symptoms of COVID 19, you must not attend the Centre and must make sure you are following the NHS guidance on self isolation

If you have been contacted by a NHS Track and Trace and identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive, you must follow the advice you have been given carefully and are strongly encouraged to access a PCR test, even if you don't have symptoms.

If you test positive for COVID 19, please notify us immediately via the absence contact routes detailed below (even if you are currently self isolating). You are advised to also contact a member of the Post 16 leadership team for support and advice.

Our expectation is that all our students have a high level of commitment to 100% attendance at lessons, tutorials and assemblies.

Teachers and tutors take a lesson by lesson register and careful records are kept.

Absences that are not acceptable include the following:

  • Holidays
  • Part-time work
  • Leisure activities
  • Driving lessons
  • Events such as birthdays or music festivals
  • Medical and dental appointments that are routine and could be made outside lessons

Reporting Absence

If students know they are going to be absent in advance, they should  complete and submit a green ‘absence in advance form’ at least 24 hours before the absence.

This needs to be signed by all the subject staff who would normally be teaching the student on the day/s of their absence as well as their tutor.  It is the student’s responsibility to catch up with any work missed during any absences.

If you become ill and unable to attend on a particular day, a parent should email or telephone as follows:
