Attendance
Our expectation is that all our students have a high level of commitment to 100% attendance at lessons, tutorials and assemblies.
Teachers and tutors take a lesson by lesson register and careful records are kept.
Absences that are not acceptable include the following:
- Holidays
- Part-time work
- Leisure activities
- Driving lessons
- Events such as birthdays or music festivals
- Medical and dental appointments that are routine and could be made outside lessons
Reporting Absence
If students know they are going to be absent in advance, they should complete and submit a green ‘absence in advance form’ at least 24 hours before the absence.
This needs to be signed by all the subject staff who would normally be teaching the student on the day/s of their absence as well as their tutor. It is the student’s responsibility to catch up with any work missed during any absences.
If you become ill and unable to attend on a particular day, a parent should email or telephone as follows:
